Extend the service life of your hydraulic components!
Defective radial piston and gear pump due to excessive contamination
The cleaner the oil, the longer the system-relevant components last!
Each hydraulic component has a minimum degree of cleanliness for the operating fluid according to the manufacturer’s specifications or other recommendations, usually according to ISO 4406:1999. If this is not adhered to, the service life of the component can suffer. System failures cannot be avoided.
The service life of the components can even be extended with the right medium and an optimal cleanliness class!
Here is an example: The radial piston pump shown above should be in accordance with. Manufacturer must be operated with a hydraulic oil of purity class 20/18/15. If this purity class is improved by 3-4 atomic numbers (17/15/12), the service life can be expected to double.
Since the entire system is affected when oil purity is improved, this can partly be transferred to other system components. The service life of the individual components can thus be significantly extended and the probability of failure is reduced.
With an assumed total cost of around €3,500 – €4,000 for replacing the radial piston pump (including assembly and downtime), installing one is worth it Off-line filter system for (depending on size) around €2,500 very quickly.
