Description
The PAM-390-P is a compact and cost-effective digital power amplifier, specifically designed to control solenoid valves. The unit is characterised by its plug-in housing design (type A in accordance with DIN EN 175 301-803 A), which is mounted directly onto the valve for simple and space-saving installation
- Precise current regulation: The output current is regulated and is therefore independent of the supply voltage (10–30 VDC) and the magnetic resistance. It reaches a nominal value of up to 2.6 A.
- Flexible signal inputs: The device supports scalable input signals of 0–10 V or 4–20 mA. These can be freely scaled to match, for example, the signals from a joystick or a PLC.
- Comprehensive parameterisation: All key parameters can be set and reproduced digitally using the WPC-300 configuration software. These include:
◦ Ramp functions (separate for ramp-up and ramp-down).
◦ MIN/MAX settings to compensate for valve overlap and to scale the output.
◦ Dither signal (amplitude and frequency) to reduce static friction in the valve.
◦ PWM frequency (61 Hz to 2604 Hz).
- Characteristic curve linearisation: A key feature is the ability to linearise the valve characteristic curve using 10 XY data points. This makes it possible to establish a linear relationship between the input signal and a physical quantity such as the output pressure.
Interfaces and hardware
Communication for parameter setting can be carried out either via a USB Type Mini 2.0 socket integrated into the device or via the LIN bus (using the ULA-310 adapter). The amplifier is fitted with two LEDs for visual monitoring of its operating status: a green status LED indicates that the unit is ready for operation or signals any faults, whilst a yellow LED indicates the magnetic current.
Safety and reliability
The module offers a high level of operational reliability thanks to various protective functions:
- Monitoring functions: The output stage is monitored for cable breaks and is short-circuit-proof. In addition, the input signal can be monitored for values outside the permitted range.
- Robustness: With an IP65 protection rating (when used with the supplied seal), the device is protected against dust and water jets.
- Compatibility: Proportional valves from all major manufacturers (such as BOSCH REXROTH, PARKER, BUCHER, etc.) can be controlled.
The PAM-390-P is therefore an ideal solution for hydraulic applications that require flexible and precise digital adjustment of valve characteristics within a compact housing.
