Around 70-80% of hydraulic failures are caused by contaminated fluids. Dirt particles are often introduced from outside and continuously deteriorate the cleanliness of the oil. Contamination of the oil has a negative impact on the service life of hydraulic components. In proportional control valves, a small particle can cause the valve to malfunction. A pump or valve failure usually leads to machine downtime with disastrous consequences and costs. Clean and dry oil ensures that the hydraulic system functions properly and reliably. The medium being examined is illuminated using LED or laser light. The particles to be counted are individually measured optically and then electronically evaluated using a numerical method. The oil condition sensor is an inexpensive solution for permanent monitoring of the oil condition in hydraulic systems, combustion engines or lubricating oil systems. The need for effective monitoring of critical systems and machines is becoming increasingly important:<\/p>\n<p>Constantly rising crude oil prices are increasing the cost of oil changes. By permanently monitoring the hydraulic system, oil change intervals can be delayed and carried out as required.<br \/>\nThe requirements for the hydraulic medium are constantly increasing, because better oil quality can increase the service life of (hydraulic) systems.<br \/>\nThe measuring method of most of these sensors is based on measuring the dielectric constant.
